Portage RCMP arrest man with brass knuckles and bow with arrows

Portage la Prairie RCMP uncovered drugs and multiple weapons after arresting an individual in the city on July 11.

Police say it all started when an officer observed a man with a warrant for his arrest meeting with another unknown individual at 5:25 p.m. that day.

The man was arrested with brass knuckles, cash, and a cell phone on him.

A search warrant was obtained by police, and the man's shed was found to have a backpack with a firearm, ammunition, illicit drugs, gun parts, and a bow with arrows.

The man was charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and and unsafe storage of firearms.

He was remanded into custody to await court.
