Messenger, Ila "Pearl" of Swift Current, Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 93 years on August 11, 2023 at The Meadows. Pearl is survived by her children: Linda (Les) Quan, Doreen Messenger, Ronald (Brenda) Messenger, Sherry Desautels, Lance Messenger, Margo (Randy Lysee) Messenger; sister Gertie Crosby; special nephew 'first born' Stan Lott. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel and Wilhelmina Stewart; brothers: James Stewart, Ronald E. Stewart "Pat;" sisters: Dorothy "Dot" Petrie, and Eleanor Wright; and her husband Lloyd S. Messenger. Pearl was born in Admiral, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1929, and was raised in Admiral where she attended school until the eighth grade. Pearl married Lloyd S. Messenger on June 11, 1951 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. During her working years, she was employed at various restaurants and motels. In her younger years she played Norwegian Whisk, and enjoyed curling and bowling. She also liked to play bingo every week at the Legion Hall or and also at the Bingo Hall. Pearled liked gardening vegetables, and also loved growing gladiolas, and yellow tea roses which were her favorite flowers. She loved her little dogs first Perky, second Tippy, and third Mercedes. Mercedes is walking her across the "Rainbow Bridge." She will be missed by her family, relatives and friends. Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.
