Predeceased by his son Mark Murray; parents Charles and Margaret Murray; brothers Keith and Warren; sister Audrey Trimble; brothers-in-law Hal Trimble and Roddy Sharpe and great niece Charleigh Murray.
Brian was born in Portage, grew up on the farm and started school in Flea Island. At the age of 13 the family moved to the Allandale District where he attended school. Brian was an avid baseball player for the school team. He farmed with his dad, and they were glad for some sand to farm in, as opposed to the rocks in Flea Island. Many memories were made at the old farm with cousins coming often and the city cousins may have fell in the cow manure a time or two. Brian continued his love for farming by working for various farmers in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. One of his favourite farms was Coltart Farms at Portage.
In later years due to health conditions, Brian returned to Portage where he lived and worked for his brother Jim. Brian enjoyed watching the Blue Jays ball games and Hockey Night in Canada. He also enjoyed going ice fishing with brother Eric on Lake Manitoba.
Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am. The service will be livestreamed, to register and view the service go to Brian’s obituary page at www.mckenziesportagefuneralchapel.com
