April 4th, 1944 - October 22nd, 2023
On Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, with family by his side, Gary Patterson lost a hard-fought battle against complications that arose following a surgery. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Reta Patterson; brothers, Goldie and Rodney; sisters, Joan and Linda; the mother of his children (Scott and Jen), Marilyn McCrea; and of course, his faithful dog Willie. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Evelyn; children: Scott (Carrie) Patterson, Cory (Loretta) Bokamyer, and Jennifer (Jeff) Dickie; grandchildren: Ashlie (Dale), Cassandra, Samantha (Brad), William (Sarah), Kiarra (Mike), Destiny, April, Jasmin, Tegan, Alyssa, and Tyson; and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Bernice and Wendy; brothers: Murray (Margaret), Brent, and Lyle; sister-in-law, Linda Kerr; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Gary loved the outdoors, spending time travelling, camping, fishing, birdwatching, and relaxing by the fire. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing sports, particularly slo-pitch and horseshoes, with a little golf and curling thrown in. Gary loved watching (and armchair coaching) Roughrider games. He was always happy to get a visit from friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
