A new Lions club will be officially announced in Humboldt on November 4, when 45 men and women celebrate the Charter Night of the Humboldt Lions Club at St. Augustine Parish Hall at 6:00 p.m.

During the ceremonies, Past International Director, Marvin Chambers, will present the members of the new club with their official charter. Members of the Lake Lenore Lions Club, who sponsored the formation of the Humboldt Lions Club, will also be on hand to congratulate members of the new club. “I am proud to welcome these men and women into Lions. Humboldt will be proud to have such a fine group serving their community,” said Beryl Bauer, Immediate Past District Governor for District 5SKN and member of the Lake Lenore Lions Club.

The night will also include comedian Matthew Murray on hand for entertainment. Murray has performed in big venues in New York City, Las Vegas, and also smaller towns such as Esterhazy.

“I love Humboldt, it’s a wonderful place to be. I am very familiar with the town, it’s wonderful, and I am also thrilled to know that Jarvis Zawatsky, my opening act, he is originally from Yorkton, but since then we got him educated up past grade 12 and he is going to have a fantastic time being there as well,” stated Murray.

“We still have a few tickets left, we will cram people in, if someone’s gotta stand in the cloakroom, we will make it work. You can get your tickets at the C Store right now,” explained Murray. “We have got cocktails, we’ve got dinner, silent auction, they may even have a live auction, there’s far more to do. Come see everybody, and have a wonderful time, doors open at 5, and we are going to have a great time.”

Those wanting to attend the entire evening including supper, ceremonies, and entertainment can purchase a ticket for $50. Those wanting to attend the entertainment portion only can purchase a ticket for $25 per person, which will include a late-night lunch. Ticket sales end on October 31.

The Humboldt Lions Club plans to become involved with fundraising and service projects that benefit the Humboldt region and align with the mission of Lions Clubs International. The Humboldt Lions Club will meet regularly on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Community Gathering Place.
