Another year is in the books for HCAA Junior volleyball as the District matchups have been decided.
In Junior Girls, after round robin, Wakaw finished on top with a 3-0 record, Wadena and Lanigan High both at 1-1, and Watson out of contention at 0-3. Wadena earned its way into the final defeating Lanigan High in 2 straight sets. Wadena and Wakaw battled it out to a deciding game giving Wadena the gold medal.
Junior Boys came down to a deciding third match as well after HCI and Englefeld tied their opening pair. With a 15-13 edge, HCI came away as Junior Boys District champions.
Junior B District girls saw Wadena pull through against LeRoy in their semi-final to come up against Watrous High who captured gold in two straight.
Finally, in Junior B District boys, with only two leagues contesting, it was Lanigan Elementary over Humboldt St. Augustine with a 2-1 edge.
Another exceptional year of Junior volleyball is wrapped up. Thanks to the coaches and athletes who competed this season.
