On Wednesday afternoon, a tow ban that had previously been implemented for parts of Alberta was lifted. While towing services have resumed, road conditions in some areas may still pose challenges for drivers. Authorities are urging motorists to remain cautious.

On Tuesday evening, the RCMP in central Alberta advised against travel along QEII between Edmonton and Calgary due to extreme weather conditions.

A previously jackknifed semi-trailer north on the QEII has been cleared.

The Alberta RCMP encourages residents across the province, including Airdrie, to join citizen-led crime prevention groups to help build safer, stronger communities. At the same time, the Airdrie RCMP is promoting the RAVE Mobile Safety system to help residents stay informed.

The Alberta RCMP has launched Operation Cold Start, a provincewide initiative that will run until Friday to address idling vehicle thefts during winter.

The blowing snow advisory has ended.

Late on Friday evening, residents in Airdrie and Crossfield were warned to prepare for hazardous travel conditions as Environment Canada issued a blowing snow advisory.

A previous collision near Crossfield has been cleared.

Earlier this morning, multiple emergency crews were reported responding to what appeared to be a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 2A near the entrance to the Crossfield Industrial area at McCool Crescent.

According to witness reports, the vehicle involved was on its side, and the local fire department was managing the situation. Witnesses also reported seeing emergency vehicles heading north from Airdrie toward the site.

There was no confirmed information yet regarding injuries or the cause of the crash.

Chinook's Edge School Division, the school district just north of Rocky View Schools Division, approved the 2025-26 school calendar, received the first quarter financial report and received a technology report.

The Board reviewed Chinook’s Edge's first-quarter financial report and evaluated the segment of the budget allocated to its operations. All revenues and expenditures align with the projections established earlier this year.

Rocky View Schools is rolling out WheresTheBus, a real-time bus tracking app designed to provide parents, guardians and schools with accurate, up-to-date information on school bus locations and arrival times.

WheresTheBus is a free, secure tool that tracks and reports real-time data using GPS and tablets installed on school buses. The information is transmitted to the WheresTheBus Parent App, which can be accessed on smartphones, tablets, or computers.

Crossfield's Municipal Enforcement Department is asking for the community's help after a dog attack at the town's dog park on Western Drive.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 8, around 1:15 p.m., and involved two medium-sized dogs—one black and one white. One of the dogs reportedly attacked a member of the public.
