Humboldt Hammerheads set to host Northerns
It’s been a busy end to the season for the Humboldt Hammerheads.
18 swimmers participated in the swim meet in Biggar on July 13, with three swimmers medaling in their respective age groups.

Muenster's Marek Yeager named to Canadian Futures Showcase
Muenster's Marek Yeager was one of 75 baseball players across the country named to the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy's 10th annual Canadian Futures Showcase on Friday.
The showcase allows baseball players that have draft and college eligibility an opportunity to compete in front of MLB scouts and college recruiters.
The players will be split into six teams for the tournament which also features a home run derby.

When it comes to diversity and inclusion, the town of Lanigan wants its words to lead to meaningful action.
A step was taken with the adoption of a Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Action Plan at their recent council meeting on July 22.
Day Four results for local athletes at Sask. Summer Games
The second half of the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games continued in Lloydminster.
One local athlete was able to place on the podium as Humboldt's Maya Mortenson picked up a bronze medal in the Female Shot Put.

Broncos looking for billets
With the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) season set to begin in about a month’s time and players set to report to training camp, the Humboldt Broncos are searching for billets for the 2024-25 season.
James Dyok, the Broncos Billet Coordinator, says the team are trying to find billets who would host the players for the duration of the SJHL season, beginning with training camp in late August until the conclusion of the season in the springtime.
Bruno is geared up for 18th annual Show and Shine on Sunday
The 18th edition of the Bruno Show and Shine returns on Sunday.
Since its inception the event has grown and is a popular attraction in the area. Chairman Brian Krentz noted that the event has become a must-see event for people in the province.
“It seems that people like to come out from the cities to a small town to look at some beautiful cars, some vintage tractors, there’s a lot of things to do with the family.”
Prairie Central Softball team wins gold at Sask. Summer Games
It was a golden trip to Lloydminster for the Prairie Central Girls softball.
Prairie Central won the gold medal, claiming the championship with a 13-6 win over South West.
To reach the final, Prairie Central edged out South East in the semi-finals 3-2.
Alexander's late surge leads Alouettes over Roughriders
A 13-point halftime lead was not enough for the Saskatchewan Roughriders as quarterback Davis Alexander came off the bench to lead the Montreal Alouettes to a 20-16 comeback victory.
Alexander replaced Caleb Evans and tossed a pair of touchdown passes with 178 yards in the second half.
