Gen Z responding to gospel as ministry sees 4,500 university students praising God
UniteUS recently held its third university gathering of 2025, and this time, 4,500 college students showed up to hear about the good news of Jesus Christ.
Last week, the ministry team held a praise night at Purdue University in Layfayette, IN. Once again, the founder of IF:Gathering, Jennie Allen, was in attendance. Allen held impromptu baptisms afterward.
"How they all help me baptize their friend?!" says Allen on Instagram. "Have you ever seen anything so dear?! It never gets old. God keeps doing it!"
Winnipeg implements program to keep pedestrians safer downtown
The city of Winnipeg is helping make 100 intersections in downtown Winnipeg safer for pedestrians crossing the street.
They are implementing Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPIs) starting Monday, Mar. 10. This change will give people crossing the busy intersections a head start before cars enter the intersection.
"Early results speak for themselves – a 13 percent pedestrian crash reduction and a 35 percent reduction of near-miss events," said Janice Lukes, Chairperson of the Standing Policy Committee on Public Works (SPC-PW) in a press release.

Arrest made in 2021 arson-related homicide of Winnipeg woman
Police have arrested a suspect in the 2021 arson-related homicide of 44-year-old Faye Sanderson, whose death was initially linked to a deliberately set fire.
On September 21, 2021, emergency crews responded to a fire at 510 Young Street shortly before 8:45 a.m. Sanderson, a member of Mosakahiken Cree Nation residing in Winnipeg, was found deceased inside the residence.
The Winnipeg Police Service says that investigators quickly determined the fire was deliberately set, and foul play was involved.
Missing 14-year-old last seen in St. Andrews found safe
Mounties say a missing 14-year-old boy has been found safe.
Selkirk RCMP received a report of a missing 14-year-old youth on March 9, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m.
They say that the teen was last seen at approximately 10:30 p.m. on March 9, 2025, leaving a residence in St. Andrews.
Selkirk RCMP and the Manitoba Integrated Missing Persons Unit had not been able to locate the boy and said they were concerned for his wellbeing in a Monday afternoon press release
Around 5 p.m. RCMP sent out another release saying he had been found.
Good Samaritan targeted in attempted carjacking after offering a ride
Winnipeg police have arrested a woman following an attempted carjacking at McPhillips Street and Inkster Boulevard on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, a woman in her 50s had picked up an unknown female passenger near Ashern, Man., while driving into the city. The victim had agreed to bring the suspect into Winnipeg and drop them off near McPhillips Street and Inkster Boulevard.
When they arrived at McPhillips and Inkster around 4 p.m., the suspect allegedly pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and attempted to steal the vehicle.
Quebec creates new committee to study whether secularism rules are being followed
The Quebec government is creating a committee to make recommendations on how to strengthen secularism in the province.
Announced this morning, the committee will study whether Quebec’s secularism law, Bill 21, is being respected.
The government says it will also document alleged religious infiltration of Quebec institutions.
The committee will analyze measures in place elsewhere in the world to reinforce state secularism, and will deliver a report by Aug. 20.
Pastor Roy Jernigan, who made headlines for skydiving at 98, dies at 100
A pastor from North Carolina who recently celebrated his 100th birthday has died.
Roy Jernigan was thrust into the spotlight worldwide after he decided to celebrate his 98th birthday by skydiving. He died on Feb. 28 from natural causes.
"I appreciate all of you that faithfully followed him and enjoyed his services," said Roy's daughter. "Preaching was his life and he loved the Lord with all his heart. He lived what he preached."
