Susan Giesbrecht nee Schroeder, 96, of Altona passed away Friday, March 7th at Boundary Trails Health Centre. She is survived by 2 daughters, 3 sons, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence and 1 grandson.
The celebration of life for Susan Giesbrecht nee Schroeder will be held Tuesday, March 11th at 2pm at Altona EMMC with burial prior to the service at 1pm at Altona Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home, Altona Monday, March 10th from 1 to 9pm.
Rebecca St. James marks joyous occasion as daughter Imogen is baptized
It's been an exciting time for Rebecca St. James and her family as they celebrated the baptism of one of her children.
Last Sunday, St. James' husband Cubbie, had the honour of baptizing their seven-year-old daughter Imogen.
"Such a profoundly special moment last week," said Rebecca in a post on social media. "Praying she knows and experiences the deep love of Jesus every day of her life. We are so proud of her and her sweet heart!"

15-year-old charged in connection to assault in Westdale
A 15-year-old boy from Winnipeg and a 20-year-old man from Garson, Manitoba are facing charges in connection to a violent assault late last week in the city's Westdale neighbourhood.
Officers were called to a convenience store in the 500 block of Dale Boulevard at around 9:35 p.m. last Friday where they found a 36-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his upper body. Officers applied multiple tourniquets to the man while they waited for paramedics to arrive. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition. The suspects fled before police arrived.
Wintery weather, blowing snow on Monday for central and southern Manitoba
As a cold front rolls into Manitoba on Monday afternoon, northly winds could affect driving conditions with blowing snow.
"There's a low-pressure system crossing the province, and the main part of it is a cold front with much colder air coming in from the north," says Dan Fulton, a meteorologist with Environment Canada (EC). "There's snow in the wake of that cold front."
Central Manitoba, just north of Winnipeg, is expected to see about 10 cm of snow throughout Monday.

A 28-year-old man had to undergo emergency surgery after being assaulted early Sunday morning.
Just after 4 a.m. yesterday, the Winnipeg Police Service was called to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Young Street for the report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found a 28-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. Officers applied a chest seal while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he underwent emergency surgery.
