Southern Plains Co-op launches STARS fundraiser with cookies, fuel, and donations

Southern Plains Co-op is once again rallying the community to support STARS Air Ambulance. From March 17 to 31, the co-op will be raising funds through cookie sales, donation cards, and a special Fuel Up Day—all to help keep STARS in the sky for those who need it most.

Bienfait Memorial Arena to host Skate Park fundraiser

The town of Bienfait is coming together to support a new skate park with a full day of fun at the Bienfait Memorial Arena on March 22, 2025. The fundraiser kicks off at 9:00 AM with a pancake breakfast sponsored by Southern Plains Co-op, followed by a full schedule of activities, including a U7 hockey game, glow skating, bouncy castles, and a special matchup between the Bienfait Fire Department and the Women’s Bienfait Bulldogs.

Entry for the event is $10 for the entire day, with all proceeds going toward the skate park project.

The Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre is making it easier for families to stay active with the Play It Forward Community Lending Closet, a free resource offering sports equipment, outdoor gear, and games to borrow.

Sydney Wanner from the Family Centre said the idea came from a desire to make activities more accessible.

Repair Café returning to Estevan with free fixes and a call for volunteers

A broken toaster, a torn jacket, or a wobbly chair—rather than tossing them, the upcoming Repair Café in Estevan on March 29 invites people to bring their damaged items and get them fixed for free.

The Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council is excited to bring the event back to the Estevan Public Library for a fourth time, and once again, local volunteers with repair skills are needed to make it happen.

Estevan community leaders step up for a messy TeleMiracle fundraiser!

The Kinette Club of Estevan is putting the "fun" in fundraising once again with a unique community challenge leading up to TeleMiracle 49. This year, five well-known Estevan residents have stepped up as candidates for a messy fate—all in the name of charity.

The friendly competition pits Estevan against the town of Nokomis, where Kinette Club member Krissy Wallman’s mother serves as the local TeleMiracle representative. Each community has gathered a lineup of participants who could end up with a pie in the face, depending on donations.

Estevan families invited to free bouncy castle event

Families in Estevan are in for a treat as the Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre brings back its highly anticipated Bouncy Castle Morning on Thursday, February 20.

Held at the Wylie Mitchell Building from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event will feature an exciting lineup of inflatables, including two large bouncy castles, one medium-sized castle, and a toddler-friendly inflatable. The event is free to attend and offers a fun-filled way for families to enjoy the school break.
