KPMG Taste of Summer BBQ raises over $44,000 for local charities
As summer comes to a close, so does the weekly KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ.
Each week throughout the season, a different local charity received support from the community event. While lunch was available for just a $2 donation, many gave much more.
$2183.70 raised for Eastman Special Olympics at this week’s KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ
The last KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ of the season was a hit, raising $2,183 for Eastman Special Olympics.
Regional Coordinator, Cathy Wiebe, says it is wonderful to feel the support for this organization.
“It makes me know that what I'm doing is right, that my athletes are the reason we're here, and people in the community know that. And I love that.”

The final KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ is set for Wednesday, August 27, in support of Eastman Special Olympics.
This charity is always a special one, with athletes often stopping by to celebrate their successes with the community.
Charity BBQ supports South Eastman English & Literacy Services
This week’s KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ was a big success, as South Eastman English and Literacy Services (SEELS) brought in $1,492 in donations.
SEELS is a non-profit organization providing language and literacy programs to adults. The charity aims to support anyone 18 and older in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills needed for daily and working life.

Meals, counselling, connection: Youth to get support through upcoming BBQ
This Wednesday, grabbing a hot dog from the KPMG Taste of Summer Charity BBQ will help support local youth.
All proceeds raised during the BBQ will go towards Youth For Christ (YFC) Steinbach, which says more than 500 different kids have walked through its doors since January this year.
