Youth warned about impersonating a peace officer
A Winkler male received a warning about impersonating a peace officer after an incident last week.
While travelling northbound on Highway 32 October 13th, a male reported to Winkler Police a vehicle approached from behind with flashing lights in the windshield. He pulled over and the vehicle also pulled over behind him, and then swerved back onto the road, spraying stones onto his vehicle. He was able to get a licence plate number, which was registered to a 17-year-old male known to police.

Sports Update - Saturday, October 26th
The South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League’s 73rd season got underway Friday night in Carman. Marcus Sekundiak scored four times as the Beavers downed the Morden Bombers 6-3. Mikol Sartor and Brett Piper also scored for Carman. Derek Wiebe, Carter Hynes and Tyler Peers replied for the Bombers.

Wreath scam targets Morden ahead of Remembrance Day
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11 is urging the public to be cautious after discovering a scam targeting local businesses in the days leading up to Remembrance Day. President Bob Frost, along with other members of the Legion, is raising awareness about individuals posing as Legion volunteers and attempting to sell wreaths under false pretenses.

Ross Sprung, 80, of Winkler formerly of Morden, passed away Monday, October 21st at The Villages. He is survived by his wife Linda, and 2 daughters. He was predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service for Ross Sprung will be held Monday, October 28th at 2pm at Morden Alliance Church with ash interment prior to the service at Lakeside Cemetery.

Ontario man taken to hospital via STARS after collision east of Elm Creek
A 29 year old man from Ontario was transported via STARS Air Ambulance to hospital with serious injuries after a head on collision Thursday morning about a mile east of Elm Creek.
Pembina Valley RCMP responded to the call shortly after 8 a.m., and the initial investigation has determined the westbound car driven by the 29-year-old veered over the center line, colliding head on with an eastbound pick-up driven by an 83-year-old male from St. Claude. The pick-up driver was also taken to hospital with injuries.
