'Tremendous' local support leads to fully booked blood donation clinic
Helping others is an integral part of life in the Prairies, and the people of Moose Jaw have once again demonstrated their commitment to supporting lifesaving endeavors, as the Canadian Blood Services’ clinic that is coming up Tuesday, July 22 is fully booked.
While appointment slots are currently full, Aaron Barlow, Community Development Manager for Canadian Blood Services in Saskatchewan encourages those who wish to donate to keep checking in.

Saskatchewan crops progressing as dry conditions persist
Producers are reporting varied growing conditions throughout the province. Some areas have crops progressing nicely, while others continue to struggle with dry conditions, according to the Ministry of Agriculture’s weekly crop report.
The Hanley area received the most rain in the past week with 44 millimetres, followed by the Serath area with 33 mm, Lampman with 32 mm and the Semans area with 28 mm.
Movie night in Assiniboia's Centennial Park
Be sure to pull up a chair in Assiniboia's Centennial Park next week.
On Thursday, July 17, the Town of Assiniboia Recreation & Community Wellness is putting on a movie in the park. It's free to attend as the concession will be open for viewers to purchase snacks and drinks.
The movie being shown will be Moana 2, as those coming to watch are encouraged to bring blankets, an extra layer, and bug spray just in case. The event has never had any problems with weather in the past; however, if conditions are unfavourable, it will be rescheduled.
MJ Mustangs hosting Rib Night ahead of busy week
The Moose Jaw Mustangs are inviting you to their rib night!
Stop by the Crushed Can Rec Room and Bar on Tuesday, July 15, between 4 and 8 .p.m to enjoy a half rack of ribs. Tickets are $25, with proceeds going to support the Mustangs heading to Minor Box Lacrosse Nationals, Canada Summer Games and the Junior NLL Tournament.

Spike & Ai Students Coming to Moose Jaw
It has turned into an annual event for Japanese children who are students at Spike & Ai International in Yokohama, Japan.
Arron Dobrescu, who grew up in Moose Jaw, owns and operates the school which offers children an after-school education in English. He and partners bring a number of the young students to his hometown each summer to see how we live and enjoy life.
Right now, they're looking for a few host families.

Miller Express hammer Mavericks
The Moose Jaw Miller Express racked up 23 hits, including two home runs, in a 19-5 rout of the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Thursday night in Medicine Hat.
Tied 4-4 after five innings, Moose Jaw outscored their opponent 15-1 over the final four innings, including an eight-run seventh inning.
