City releases official results from municipal election

The City of Moose Jaw released the official results from the municipal election this morning.

As expected, James Murdock was elected mayor of Moose Jaw by a landslide, while Jamey Logan, Patrick Boyle, Chris Warren, Heather Eby, Dawn Luhning and Carla Delaurier were elected to city council out of 24 candidates.

Sask NDP names full 27-member Shadow Cabinet for approaching legislative session

The first session of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly following the provincial election has been announced for Monday, Nov. 25, and all 27 members of the Sask NDP will have a portfolio to shadow and critique, including the 15 newly elected MLAs. 

Sask NDP Leader Carla Beck named her Shadow Cabinet on Wednesday. 

“We’ve got some work to do and I’m ready to lead by example,” said Beck. “If you look for common ground, there’s a lot more that unites us than divides us. 

‘For Youth By Youth’: Hub offering youth supports opens in Moose Jaw

Saskatchewan’s second integrated youth services HOMEBASE hub officially opened its doors in Moose Jaw on Thursday. 

Located at 52 High St. W., the hub offers access to mental health and addictions services, physical health services, peer supports, education, employment and training supports, cultural and traditional supports, and social and community supports for youth. 

Timmy's announces Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign to benefit Hunger in Moose Jaw

Moose Jaw’s three local Tim Horton’s franchises will donate the proceeds of their annual Holiday Smile Cookie Campaign to support the work of non-profit Hunger in Moose Jaw from Nov. 18 to 24. 

Each cookie will cost $1.50, and purchases of six or more cookies will be tax-free. The proceeds will be split 50-50 between Hunger in Moose Jaw and the Tim Horton’s Foundation.

Classroom of the Month visits Ms. Hellings' grade 3/4 class at Prince Arthur

Classroom of the Month presented by Town & Country Plumbing, Heating & Electrical stopped by Prince Arthur Community School for a visit with Ms. Hellings' grade 3/4 class!

Students were treated to lunch from Family Pizza and dessert from Kona Ice. Ms. Hellings was spoiled too with gifts from Wrapture Spa & Boutique, Just A Girl In Her Garden and K+S Potash.

Thor is a wonderful boy! His family loved him dearly but were unable to find housing that would allow Thor to join them. Thor has lived with little children 2 and 4 years old and loved them.

The "Bisons" land in Moose Jaw

15 Wing Moose Jaw was treated to a visit from one of the largest aircraft in the Royal Canadian Airforce's fleet, the CC-177 Globemaster III.

Travelling the country as part of a training mission, the 53.04m long aircraft touched down shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday to a small crowd of pilots, trainees and military personnel who gathered to witness the spectacle.

Discover Moose Jaw was allowed a rare inside look at the impressive piece of aviation hardware while prospective CC-177 pilots received a tour of the aircraft.
