Reminder: Dragoons conducting drill rehearsals tomorrow

The Moose Jaw Police Service is reminding residents that the Saskatchewan Dragoons will be at a number of locations around Moose Jaw on Saturday, undertaking drill rehearsals and skill development.

Between 20-25 soldiers will be out in their uniforms at Wakamow Valley near the Kiwanis Skating Oval, next to the Western Development Museum, on Maple Street between the 4th Ave Bridge and Main Street South, and in the Hamilton Flats area.

Residents are allowed and encouraged to interact with the soldiers.

In Memory of a Special Son

It’s sometimes hard to know
Why some things happen as they do
For so much joy and happiness
Was centered around you

It seems so hard to comprehend
That you’re no longer here
But all the happy memories
Will help to keep you near

You’re thought about with pride, son
With each mention of your name
Death cannot change a single thing
The love will still remain

Carnie's Comments

It's time for some fun on Facebook Friday. I share the best from the best.

I like this one, "Me: I have my life together. Also me: Loses keys, spills coffee, trips over nothing and forgets what day it is."

A question, "Why is there always a shop selling luggage at the airport? Who is going on vacation, carrying and armful of clothing and saying, I'll just pack when I get there?"

Another question, "If there are 365 days in a year, why did we only name 7 of them?"

November 1st Adorable Adoptable!

This week's Spicke Grooming Adorable Adoptable from the Moose Jaw Humane Society is Arby! Arby is a 2 1/2-year-old neutered Yorkshire Terrier mix. This adorable little fella has a lively spirit and endless enthusiasm.  He is a high-energy little guy.  Arby is still working on his housebreaking skills, so he'll need a family willing to patiently guide him as he learns. He's sweet, friendly, playful, and eager for attention, making him a great match for someone who can provide structure and plenty of activity.

Meet the candidate: Carla Delaurier

Below are Delaurier's answers to the questions we posed to all city council candidates:

Q: Why are you running for council?

A: My strong background in both business and social work equips me to tackle Moose Jaw's key issues, like housing, jobs, and social challenges. Having lived here for over 45 years, I’ve raised a family, owned businesses, and worked with our community’s most vulnerable. My priorities are community safety, new jobs, and affordable housing, driven by the belief that "If there is a need, there is a way.
