CN Rail submitted its 2025-26 Grain Plan to Transport Canada at the end of July.
CN's Assistant Vice-President of Grain, David Przednowek, says the grain plan is based on what CN knows from customers and other stakeholders about the volume of grain and processed grain products that it expects to move over the course of the 2025-26 crop year.

Warriors announce schedule for 2025 Training Camp
The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to announce the schedule for the 2025 Training Camp presented by KCS Marketing.
Training Camp kicks off on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, with registration and fitness testing. On ice sessions begin on Thursday. The 2025 Training Camp will wrap up on Sunday, August 31, with the team’s annual Grey and Red Intrasquad game. Entry to the game will be by donation to CMHA Moose Jaw in memory of Warriors’ prospect Ethan Williams and Warriors’ alumni, Rob Trumbley.
Heat warning to last two days: ECCC
A heat warning is in effect across much of southern Saskatchewan today, and things are going to stay on the warm side for at least the next 48 hours.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologist Crawford Luke, today is going to be a bit of a scorcher.
Portion of 9th Ave. NW to close next week
Another major road closure is coming to Moose Jaw next week.
Starting Monday, August 25, 9th Avenue NW will be closed between Thatcher Drive and Spring Creek for work as part of the 2025 Paved Roadways and Sidewalks Project.
For the project's duration, Thatcher Drive will be open to east, west and northbound traffic. Normandy Drive will be closed at 9th Avenue NW, and Simcoe Street will open to west and southbound traffic.
City announces date for Household Hazardous Waste Day
The City of Moose Jaw has announced that its second and final Household Hazardous Waste Day of 2025 will be Sept. 6.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., residents can safely dispose of their unwanted chemicals and other household hazardous materials at the City Complex at 1010 High St. W. free of charge.

At the age of 78, Myrla passed away peacefully on Saturday August 16th, 2025, surrounded by family and her dear friend Betty.
She was predeceased by her mother Myrtle Silsby and her daughter Lynette Peet and her brother-in-law Bill Gibson. She is survived by her best friend, partner and husband Kent, her daughters Tara Holland (Tim McNulty) and Amber Holland (Travis Brown), son-in-law Parry Peet and sister-in-law Merla Gibson (yes there were two).

It's week two of the Canada Summer Games and Team Sask is back in action this morning! Men's softball opens at 11 against New Brunswick, with a match-up against Manitoba to follow this afternoon.
Women's baseball gets underway this morning; they face Team Manitoba.
And the Sask men's volleyball team will defend their 2022 Canada Summer Games gold medal when they take on host Newfoundland at 10:30.
Team Sask opens week two with 1 gold and three bronze medals.

SPSA says communities no longer evacuated due to wildfires
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) says no communities in the province are currently evacuated due to wildfires, and all highway access to the north is back open.
Improved weather has allowed evacuation orders to be lifted for the Northern Hamlet of Jans Bay, Patuanak/English River First Nation, the La Plonge Reserve and some individuals from the Northern Village of Beauval.
