Romana Didulo issues threats of public execution in Richmound; Mayor: 'We've got to act on this now'

The Village of Richmound has received threats from Romana Didulo and her followers, this time calling for public executions. 

Emails sent to the Village contain threats directed at elected officials, and along with other members of the community. 

Minister of Health details successful meetings with SUMA and SARM

Saskatchewan's Minister for Health has seen some success in recent meetings.

Everett Hindley, Saskatchewan Minister for Health, recently met with members from SUMA and those from SARM. In these meetings, he listened to concerns regarding rural healthcare, as well as taking in feedback on pilot programs from the year. 

Hindley was recently moved up into the position but already has been seeing some success in the new role. 

SGI marks huge uptick in speeders for July in report

July was a busy month for RCMP as motorists set records for 2023. 

SGI reports in their monthly spotlight for July that over 5,300 speeding tickets were handed out. This is the most for a single month so far this year, with plenty of people now paying the price. 

Tyler McMurchy, a spokesperson for SGI, thinks that perhaps a trending song may be to blame. 

"Maybe that Luke Combs song 'Fast Car' is in everybody's head," joked McMurchy. "You may have a fast car, but that doesn't mean that the speed limit doesn't apply to you."

WSA shares details on Lake Diefenbaker water levels

The Water Security Agency (WSA) has addressed the low water levels at Lake Diefenbaker. 

In a recent post on its website, the WSA revealed that the inflow at Diefenbaker is at only 28 per cent of its normal capacity. 

Typically, the lake receives 440 cubic metres per second of inflow. As of August 22, the lake was only getting 125 cubic metres per second. 

The post pointed to hot and dry weather in southern Alberta as the cause for this reduction in stream flows.

Motion picture draws the spotlight to Saskatchewan

It's not every day a major motion picture will be filming in Saskatchewan, helping to draw more attention to the prairie cinema scene. 

The movie, "Die Alone", is being produced by Regina-based Mind's Eye Entertainment, and is the story of a future where society has ended after an illness wipes out mankind. 

The film is unique not only because of its filming in the Land of Living Skies but also because of the big names it will feature. Veterans like Carrie-Anne Moss from The Matrix, and Frank Grillo from Captain America and Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard.
