In loving memory of Laura Eileen Evans, Red Deer, Alberta. Passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on February 22, 2025 at the age of 100 years. Born in Central Butte, Saskatchewan. Raised on a family farm in Robin Hood Area, Saskatchewan. Married Fred Evans on July 14, 1945.  Lived in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan prior to moving to Red Deer Alberta. GIGI enjoyed knitting, weaving, crocheting, all crafts, and loved bingo. She enjoyed all family activities, camping, traveling and was a number one Edmonton Oilers fan!

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Nick Wall of Swift Current, SK will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church with a reception to follow at Riverview Village Estates – Great Room 1101 2nd Ave. S.E. Swift Current, SK.

The Private Family interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery prior to the service.

Susan Funk (nee Dueck), 83, of Winkler passed away Thursday, February 27th at Boundary Trails Health Center. She is survived by 1 daughter, 3 sons and their families. 
A celebration of life for Susan Funk (nee Dueck) will be held Saturday, March 29th at 11am at Winkler Emmanual Church with burial at Brookside Cemetery Winnipeg at a later date.

The funeral service for Jean Lewis will be held Wednesday, March 5th at 2pm at Morris United Church with private inurnment prior to the service at Morris Cemetery.

Bertha Wells

It is with heavy hearts; we share the passing of ‘Gramma’ Bertha. She was one incredible pioneer woman living her life to the fullest.

Bertha Wells (nee Loverick), of Morse, Saskatchewan, age 98, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Herbert Integrated Health Facility in Herbert, Saskatchewan. She was born June 30, 1926, youngest daughter of six children. Bertha was predeceased by her husband Burton, her parents, George and Helen Loverick; her sisters, Barbara and Alice; and her brothers, Frank, George, and Joe.

Terrance (Terry) James Makinson

I am heartbroken to announce the passing of our father, Terrance (Terry) James Makinson, on February 22nd, 2025 in Nanaimo, B.C.at the age of 76.

Dad was born and raised in the Austin, Manitoba area, a treasured only child. After graduating from high school in Austin, he pursued a degree from Bemidji State University in Minnesota.

On Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Humboldt District Hospital surrounded by his family Brian Wallace Shewchuk 74 years, of Watson passed away peacefully.

Brian was born on September 2, 1950, to Metro and Anne (nee Hupka) Shewchuk, at Watson.  He was the youngest of 3 sons.

Weyburn October 25, 1939 – February 24, 2025

Bev was the youngest of 5, raised on the family farm in Grassdale area, 18 miles SE of Weyburn. She rode horseback or travelled by buggy to a 1 room schoolhouse with her siblings. Her favorite animals on the farm were the sheep. She received 1 penny per day for looking after them!

Bev met Don, a great dancer who also turned out to be the love of her life, while attending Saturday evening dances at club 13 located on the eastern edge of Weyburn.
