2024 marks 55 years of communities raising funds and riding in support of Red Rock Bible Camp.

Red Rock’s annual fundraising Cyclathon on Saturday, June 1, starts in Steinbach, Landmark, and Winnipeg, including a stop for lunch at the halfway mark. The riders then head to Rennie, and from there, they are shuttled to camp for a special dinner and awards ceremony. The total distance of the Cyclathon is 125 kilometres, with an option for riders wanting a shorter distance to start from the halfway point.

With their motto – any door, any size, anywhere – the team at Hanover Doors have seen it all when it comes to garage doors and door systems.

“We supply, install, and service residential garage door packages,” says Anders Toews, Sales Manager. “We also offer commercial services, commercial maintenance, and of course, complete packages for garage doors.”

Hanover residents have likely seen one of Hanover Doors’ many commercial projects – the Blumenort Fire Hall.

Audrey Harder is known to many as the Board Chair of Summer in the City. However, she likes to point out that her near-decade of involvement with the event started as a volunteer face-painter.

“I started by volunteering in the kids area,” she recalls. “Then I was the Volunteer Coordinator for the kids area, and then I did face-painting. I’d spend entire days face-painting and absolutely loved it. And I became really good at it!”

Everyone knows that golf season has officially opened, but it’s also mini golf and ice cream season at La Broquerie Golf!

Manager Pat Gauthier explains that mini golf is fairly new for them.

“Last year was our first full year of mini golf. Everyone can enjoy it – from the young, all the way to the young-at-heart. It's good easy fun for everybody.”

Gauthier and his team felt the town needed something more to do than baseball and golf – that’s when they decided to put in a mini golf course at La Broquerie Golf.

Each year on the third weekend of June, four Main Street blocks in the heart of Steinbach are transformed into midways, markets, entertainment stages and other vibrant spaces that celebrate the culture and heritage of Southeastern Manitoba.

Gathering and sharing a meal is a connecting experience. It brings people together to mark traditions, to express gratitude, and to offer help.

The Steinbach Arts Council is highlighting community impact at this year’s fundraising Gala.  With a focus on developing skills through arts recreation like leadership, commitment, critical and creative thinking, mental and emotional well-being, this year’s event celebrates a significant increase in participation at this regional hub for the arts.

On the very edge of the Sandilands Provincial Forest, a mere twenty-minute drive from Steinbach, there’s a very special place where you can dig your toes in the sand, cool off in the water… even enjoy a lunch on a floating picnic table! 

“Our floating picnic tables are very popular,” laughs Hilary Holmes. As one of the owners of The Twisted Root RV Park, she’s almost surprised at their success.  

It all began back in 2014, when she and her husband Brad purchased the property next to their Marchand home.
