It’s a Canadian moment that many people will remember: Princess Diana visiting AIDS patients at the Casey House in Toronto in 1991.
Thirty years later, that visit has been given a theatrical treatment in the form of Casey and Diana. The play debuted back in 2023 at the Stratford Festival in 2023, and now, it will grace the John Hirsch Mainstage at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre starting this week.

Foreign affairs minister says China executed four Canadians
Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said Wednesday that China has executed four Canadians in recent months.
The minister said all four were "dual citizens" and were all "facing charges linked to criminal activities according to China, linked to drugs."
"This is an issue that I've been following very, very closely, personally, for months, and I've asked personally also (for) leniency," Joly said, adding former prime minister Justin Trudeau also urged China not to execute the Canadians.

Manitoba budget will ease payroll tax, include job-creation spending
The Manitoba budget to be released Thursday is expected to include help for businesses and new spending to create infrastructure jobs.
The spending plan will reduce the Health and Post Secondary Education Tax Levy -- commonly called the payroll tax -- for roughly 1,000 businesses, a government source told The Canadian Press.
