Sacred Heart highlights a year of milestones and memories
While students at Sacred Heart School are officially done for the year, teachers are still in the building, finishing up final reports, paperwork, and some last celebrations before heading into summer.

Thunderstorm grazes Estevan with some late night and early morning rainfalls
The southeast was hit by a pair of thunderstorms last night and early this morning, with lightning and plenty of rainfall coming down. Environment and Climate Change Canada had been watching those systems as they tracked across southern Saskatchewan, tracking from the west to the east.
When they finally hit the Estevan area, Meteorologist Crawford Luke says we managed to miss the worst of it.

Canada’s system of developing wheat varieties is both efficient and effective, says a University of Saskatchewan agricultural economist.
Australia invests much more into wheat genetics and improving varieties, but the yield gains are similar to Canadian results.
“In Australia, they’re spending three to five times what we are, right now, on wheat research and wheat genetics,” said Richard Gray, Canadian grain policy research chair at the U of S.

4th Street block partially reopened with one lane access for drivers
4th Street has been partially reopened, as that was closed earlier this month with the Downtown Revitalization project underway.
The 1200 block now has a single lane open on the north side of the road, with vehicles limited to 30 km/h passing through.
As workers and equipment are still hard at work in the area, drivers should be cautious as they head through the block.
As well, Nicholson Road between the Dieppe and McCormack crescents is closed due to sewer work.

Federal Court approves Indian Hospitals class-action settlement
The Federal Court has approved a multi-billion-dollar class-action settlement for people who suffered abuse at federally run 'Indian hospitals' following out-of-court negotiations between Ottawa and Indigenous survivors.
The federal government ran 33 such hospitals between 1936 and 1981. The total compensation amount is expected to be between $3 billion and $5.3 billion.
