It’s kind of a big dill: Fresh Air Fitness nets $25K to bring pickleball to Woodlawn Park
Fresh Air Fitness has received a $25,000 boost from Kingston Midstream and Tundra Oil & Gas for the installation of a new pickleball court at Woodlawn Park.
“We are going to build the pickleball court on the other side of Cossette Field here, and hopefully we’re going to get on it and get them ready and up and going,” said Debby Knight.
Contractors have already been contacted for the project.

Remi Rheault is running with the Green Party of Canada, having moved to Saskatchewan in 2022 and previously running with the Green Party in Kenora, Ontario.

Powerful mural showcasing Indigenous art and reconciliation unveiled at ECS
The Estevan Comprehensive School debuted a new mural above the front foyer, created by a Indigenous artist, yesterday. The piece was made by Geanna Dunbar, a Plains Cree artist who works in a number of mediums, including body modification, tattooing in both machine and traditional fashion, spoken word poetry, and more.
Dunbar proudly donated the mural to the school, which she called "Reconcil-onialism". The piece was created in partnership with the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum. She shared that the mural was painted during a mini-residency in Estevan back in 2023.

Radiothon For Life launches with $50,000 from Whitecap Resources
Whitecap Resources has kicked off the 14th annual Radiothon For Life with a major show of support—a $50,000 donation to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.
The generous contribution marks the official start of the foundation’s fundraising campaign leading up to this year’s radiothon, which will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The event will be broadcast live on Sun 102 FM, Country 106 FM, and CJ1150 AM.

The Estevan Mermaids Artistic Swimming Club held its annual water show on Sunday evening, drawing one of the largest crowds in the event's history. Head coach Amber Mantei expressed excitement over the positive turnout, with many parents and community members showing their support for the young athletes.
"Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and I got so many compliments," Mantei said. "The athletes were thrilled to have such a large crowd watching them perform their routines, and it was well deserved because they worked hard all season long."
Council awards HVAC upgrade contract to Mid City Plumbing and Heating

Leaders take their campaigns to Western Canada as federal election nears midpoint
The leaders of the top three federal parties were campaigning Tuesday in Western Canada, where Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre promised to crack down on offshore tax loopholes by appointing a tax task force.
The Conservatives said the task force would be asked to make the rules simpler and more fair and would ensure large companies can't "stash their money in offshore tax havens."
