New poll says 27% of Canadians view the United States as an 'enemy' country
A new poll suggests that more than a quarter of Canadians — 27 per cent — now see the United States as an "enemy" country, while another 30 per cent still say they consider the U.S. an ally.
Another 27 per cent of respondents to the Leger survey said they consider the United States to be a "neutral" country.
The poll comes as U.S. President Donald Trump threatens to impose economically devastating tariffs on Canada and has repeatedly pushed the idea that Canada should become a U.S. state.

The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested 18-year-old Darrius Racette in Yorkton on February 18th. He has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder in relation to the deaths of Tracey Hotomani, Sheldon Quewezance, Shauna Fay, and Terry Jack.
Province scaling back energy efficiency regulations in effort to encourage house affordability
The government of Saskatchewan is reverting some energy efficiency guidelines for home building in what it calls a move for affordability.
The recent announcement by the province is putting all construction into tier 1 of the national building codes, including the National Building Code of Canada (NBC), National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB), and the National Plumbing Code of Canada (NPC).
Construction Association of Saskatchewan Treasurer Dan Yungwirth supported the change in the release.

Freedom Convoy organizer Pat King given 3-month conditional sentence
Freedom Convoy organizer Pat King was sentenced to three months of house arrest in an Ottawa court this morning.
The sentence includes 100 hours of community service at a food bank or men's shelter.
It comes on top of nine months he spent in custody both before and during his trial.
King was found guilty on five of nine charges in November, including mischief and disobeying a court order, for his role in the 2022 protest that took over downtown Ottawa for three weeks.

Estevan Fire Rescue was out in the community even as an extreme cold warning blanketed Estevan as they responded to numerous calls.
