Ukrainians worry as their three-year emergency visas are set to expire
Many of the 300,000 Ukrainians who have come to Canada on three-year emergency visas since 2022 face an uncertain future as their temporary resident permits come closer to expiring, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress warned Wednesday.
Congress executive director Ihor Michalchyshyn said he met with Immigration Minister Marc Miller last week to ask his department to automatically renew the visas for another three years.

RCMP report rise in homicides across Saskatchewan in 2024
The number of homicides in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction reached a record high in 2024, with 38 homicide files and 40 victims, according to a newly released RCMP report.
The report reveals a 27 per cent increase in homicide files and a 33 per cent rise in homicide victims compared to 2023, which was the second-highest year for homicides in the province.

Hagel helps these students transition from high school to post-secondary education or into the workforce.
