The Estevan Police Service responded to a number of calls over the weekend as temperatures plummeted.
The first report came on January 10th when an individual drove off from a local service station without paying for fuel. After contacting the owner of the vehicle members saw that they returned to pay for the fuel.
Officers later received a complaint of a vehicle that was blocking a driveway on King Street. Members contacted the owner of the vehicle and told them it needed to be moved.
Virtual physician program fails to retain doctors in Kipling
The town of Kipling is set to face a significant loss in healthcare services as they will be down to one physician by the end of January. Three doctors arrived in the community after the implementation of a virtual physician program. Two of those three are now resigning.
“Two of our doctors who arrived in the latter part of summer and into early fall have paid out their contracts, apparently, and will be leaving at the end of January,” says Mayor Pat Jackson. “They had only been here since, well, one of them since August. So, yeah, that is concerning.”

Justin Trudeau's own walk in the snow launched a historic week in federal politics
“Sunny ways, my friends. Sunny ways.”
With those words, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau began his time in office, having brought the Liberals out of the political wilderness and into a majority government in October 2015.
Those sunny ways followed him into an unseasonably warm November day weeks later, when he attended his official swearing-in at Rideau Hall. As Trudeau made his way up the driveway to the governor general’s residence, he was surrounded by family, members of his new cabinet and throngs of cheering supporters.
