Pat King, one of the most prominent figures of the 2022 "Freedom Convoy" in Ottawa, has been found guilty on five counts including mischief and disobeying a court order.

A jury deliberated for about an hour Friday before convicting two men on human smuggling charges in a case where a family from India froze to death in Manitoba while trying to walk across the Canada-U.S. border.

Steve Shand of Florida and Harshkumar Patel, an Indian national arrested in Chicago, were each found guilty on all four counts they faced related to bringing unauthorized people into the U.S., transporting them and profiting from it.

The Estevan Bruins’ annual Teddy Bear Toss is set to take place on Saturday, November 23rd, during their home game against the Battlefords North Stars. This beloved event brings the community together for a great cause, with fans tossing teddy bears onto the ice after the Bruins score their first goal of the game. All donated bears will be collected and distributed to seniors in various care facilities across the Southeast. 

Envision Counselling and the Estevan Public Library are teaming up to host a Death Café event on November 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The event will provide a safe and welcoming space for participants to discuss their thoughts, fears, and experiences with death and grief.

Yesterday, YOU, the community, came out and supported food banks all over the southeast by donating non-perishable items and cash for the Blow Away Hunger Food Drive! Southern Plains Co-op locations in Estevan, Carlyle and Oxbow participated in the 12-hour event that saw the community give to the less fortunate.
