The southeast could see a bit of weather tonight which would bring some rain and warmth into what has been a chilly fall week.

A Colorado low is on the horizon, bringing the usual precipitation and warmer air that's usually associated with heavy, wet snow in the winter.

The Saskatchewan RCMP is warning people of gold jewellery scams in the province, with a recent occurrence here in the southeast.

On September 13 at around 2:45 p.m., the Carlyle RCMP received a report of fraud. An investigation into the matter found that a motorist approached another motorist near Highway 13, asking them for gas money. That motorist then offered them a gold ring in exchange for more money.

MRI wait times in Saskatchewan currently average 120 days, with officials at St. Joseph's Hospital hoping that advances for their project will bring that down for Estevan residents.

A new MRI machine at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Estevan is expected to reduce wait times for southeast residents, leading to faster diagnoses and improved outcomes. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of next year, solidifying Estevan’s role as a regional healthcare hub. With funding reaching $4.2 million, the project can now begin its next steps.

After a challenging game last weekend that was called off due to injuries, the Viragos are preparing to face Swan Valley this Saturday as they aim to solidify their position in the Prairie Girls Football League.

“We went into Moosomin with 11 players and thought we’d be alright, but we had some injuries. By halftime, it was 54-12, and we had to call the game because we were down to six players,” said head coach Mark Tribiger.

"I believe our community needs a strong leader who can lead them through any challenges this community is going to face," she expressed. 

The campaign is in full swing for the 2024 Saskatchewan provincial election. We are reaching out to the leaders of the parties of the province and will be asking them the same set of questions.
