Update: Crossfield issues boil water advisory after service disruption
The Town of Crossfield says a boil water advisory remains in effect, even as water restrictions have been eased back to the year-round Level 1 after repairs to a water main break.
In a Facebook update on Friday, the town said the break has been repaired and the system is back in service. It said Level 2 restrictions have now been lifted, with residents returning to the standard Level 1 rules that limit outside watering to even-numbered addresses on even calendar days and odd-numbered addresses on odd days.
Cochrane on track for $1.1M surplus
Cochrane is on pace to finish 2025 with an anticipated surplus of about $1.1 million, according to the town’s second-quarter financial update.
Alvin Allim, the town’s chief financial officer, presented the report to council this week, covering the first six months of the year ending June 30. The update highlighted both operational and capital performance, along with a forecast for year-end.
Wire theft at work sites in RM of Riverside
Police are looking into thefts at two local work sites.
Swift Current Rural RCMP are investigating thefts at sites in the RM of Riverside between August 5 and September 6.
Police say an unknown individual damaged fences at the sites and stole wire.

Ahead of weekend rains, Weyburn farmers making harvest progress
