All-day closure on Duke Street today

Drivers in Dryden will see some delays on Duke Street today.

The City of Dryden is warning drivers that Duke Street, from Hearst Avenue to Memorial Avenue, is closed to all traffic today until 7 p.m., as crews work on repairs to the water distribution system.

The overpass will remain open and accessible from Memorial Avenue.

Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the public for their cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact their office at 807-223-2367.

Roadway repairs, closure for Coker Road

Drivers north of the Kenora Bypass are warned of delays in the Coker Road area.

The City of Kenora says a portion of Coker Road, east of Kelly Road, is closed to all traffic until further notice, as contractors work on road repairs. Traffic control is in place.

The City apologizes for the inconvenience and reminds the community to always slow down and move over near working crews.

Crossfield resident dead in Highway 2A collision

The RCMP have confirmed one person is dead following a crash that occurred just before noon at the intersection of Highway 2A and Dickson Stevenson Trail, South of Crossfield.

According to the RCMP, an SUV turned northbound onto Highway 2A from Dickson Stevenson Trail when it was struck by a commercial vehicle that was travelling southbound on Highway 2A.

Update: Airdrie RCMP on scene of serious motor vehicle collision

The RCMP has confirmed one person has died as a result of the collision that occurred just before noon. The scene has since been cleared.

Airdrie Rural RCMP, EMS and the Crossfield Fire Department were on the scene of a serious collision that occurred at approximately 11:57 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 2A and Dickson Stevenson Trail, South of Crossfield.

All-day closure on Ninth Street North today

The City of Kenora is hoping to finish up one more paving project this week.

City staff say crews will be working on Ninth Street North, between Twelfth Avenue North and Houghton Road today, as crews work to finish up some paving work.

The closure will be in effect all day, and residents are reminded to always slow down and move over near working crews. The city thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.

City alerts residents of unscheduled road closure

According to the city of Airdrie, until 4 p.m. today at Veterans Boulevard and Main street, the east and westbound inside median lanes will be closed to accommodate the left turn lane expansion. The road closure may also affect the Friday morning commute on October 28 as well.

The tentative road closure schedule for Friday for the same area, will start at 9 a.m. and last till 4 p.m. However, Friday's road closure is dependent on weather conditions.

City hoping to finish road work ahead of freeze-up

A number of major capital projects and road improvements are wrapping up in Kenora ahead of the winter season – partly due to the warm weather we’ve been seeing.

During a Special Meeting of Council on October 25, Municipal Engineer with the City of Kenora, Marco Vogrig, was asked to detail the status of a number of projects underway in the community.

Underpass closed today for road work

The City of Dryden says the Underpass will be closed down to all traffic today, causing delays.

Crews with the City of Dryden will be working on the roadway under the Underpass today, closing it down until 3 p.m.
