A new healthcare pilot launched earlier this year is showing promising results, and Stoughton’s New Hope Pharmacy is among the select sites helping to lead the way. 

With the cooler temperatures we have seen for periods of time looking to be behind us, with the weekend approaching, the City of Weyburn is looking forward to all of the activities being offered around the community.

The Communications Coordinator for the City, Paige Tenbult, detailed numerous opportunities for families to get out and enjoy the city, particularly children. 

Statistics Canada released the annual report on police-reported crime statistics on Tuesday. The annual report provides a detailed look at public safety trends nationwide, including in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan.  

Vincent Peter Bernard, late of Trossachs, SK passed away on July 21, 2025 at the age of 81 years.

He was predeceased by his father, Virgil Bernard.

Kids ages six to 12 can paddle and play at the Weyburn Canoe and Kayak Club's summer day camps at Nickle Lake Regional Park, and with just three weeks of camp left, the club is offering a special promotion of a $10 price reduction to fill the remaining open spots.

Week 4 starts on Monday, July 28th, and week 6 begins on August 18th. New campers can sign up for $140 per week, and returning campers can sign on for $120 per week.

 AgraCity - a generic crop input supplier - sending out an important notice yesterday to its clients thanking them for their patience while they work through their operational restructuring after experiencing cash flow problems.

AgraCity owes product to a number of farmers and is attempting to reimburse growers for crop inputs they bought but did not receive.

The company announced they have restarted their packaging and product fulfillment operations and will be making products available to customers soon.

 Agriculture Minister Ron Kostyshyn says Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation will provide support measures through its AgriInsurance program, improving cash flow for livestock producers needing to secure additional feed.

MASC will be applying a quality adjustment factor to reduce yield appraisals by 40 per cent for drought-stricken cereal crops that are converted to livestock feed. 

A new agreement will open up more opportunities for moving products from Manitoba and Saskatchewan to the world.

This week, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew and the Arctic Gateway Group (AGG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will create a northern trade corridor through the Port of Churchill.

Moe says Saskatchewan remains committed to strengthening trade across Canada by supporting and developing new transportation corridors

Members of the Weyburn Police Service last week charged four people for breaching their release conditions in separate incidents.

Deputy Chief Shane St. John explained it's one of the jobs of police officers to watch community members who are on conditions.

"Sometimes they're caught out past a curfew or caught with someone maybe they shouldn't be with, and no other criminal activity had occurred," he noted. "Or it's they're with the co-accused, people they were in trouble with. [They] can't be in a place you can buy alcohol or drugs, like a weed shop or the bar."

The City of Weyburn's Fire Pit Bylaw requires anyone using a fire pit in their yard to have a permit from City Hall. However, there are also a few safety rules to keep in mind to ensure only happy memories are made during fire pit season.

Deputy Fire Chief Mike Wolk said the fire pit should be placed far enough away from anything combustible in your yard, such as your trees, your fence, or your house.
