Highway 15 pedestrain walkway hit with vandalism
The newly built walkway under the Highway 15 bridge has been struck with vandalism.
The vandalism was spotted earlier this month by Fort Saskatchewan resident Tamee Dumont. She posted about the graffiti on the Fort Sask Informed Facebook group.
Alongside the walkway, graffiti can be seen showing ableist and homophobic slurs alongside anti-police sentiment.

Get another COVID-19 booster in the fall, Canada's immunization panel recommends
Canada's National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) says people should get another COVID-19 vaccine booster in the fall if it's been at least six months since their last dose or COVID-19 infection.
It says the booster doses will be new formulations updated to target more recent, immune-evasive variants.
NACI continues to strongly recommend that anyone five years of age and older who hasn't yet been vaccinated should be immunized with a primary two-dose series of an mRNA vaccine.

EPS: Man charged in alleged murder at LRT station
The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has charged a man with the alleged murder of another man at the Belvedere LRT station over the weekend.
On Sunday night, officers were sent to the station to respond to a weapons complaint. Upon arrival, they discovered a dead man with suspicious injuries.
Homicide detective took over the scene and an investigation resulted in the arrest of 27-year-old Jamal Wheeler who is now facing a charge of second-degree murder.
Flapjack world record broken during Stampede
17,182 - that is the number of pancakes served during this past Sunday's Stampede Breakfast during Tim Hortons Family Day. That number of pancakes flipped and served means that the Stampede has broken the Guinness World Record for most pancakes served in eight hours.
Fort lacrosse teams prepping for big weekend at JRC
It's a critical weekend for a couple of Fort Saskatchewan lacrosse teams.
Both the Junior Rebels and the Senior Rebels teams will be taking to the concrete for their final games of the regular season.
The Junior Rebels are in a dogfight for first place with the Edmonton Warriors as both teams hold a 14-4-0 record. The Rebels will have to have a perfect weekend if they hope to finish on top.
New mural coming to Fort Saskatchewan
Downtown Fort Saskatchewan is getting another mural.
This addition to the Downtown Mural Program, created by the City of Fort Saskatchewan, is being painted by Flying Colors Murals.
Dave Thomas, with Flying Colors, has worked in Fort Saskatchewan before when he painted the murals outside of the Jubilee Recreation Centre, and along the side of Twice But Nice on 102 Street.
Thomas said that he got in touch with the city through a call out they made to artists in the area.
Homicide detectives investigating death in north Edmonton
Edmonton Police homicide detectives are investigating after finding a man dead outside of a north Edmonton home on Monday morning.
Officers say that at about 6 a.m. they were called out to a home after receiving reports of an injured man in the area of 84 Street and 179 Avenue.
After arriving, police found a 25-year-old man with serious injuries. Paramedics were called to the area and the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Blockade continues at Winnipeg landfill after deadline passes
Dozens of protesters continued to block a Winnipeg landfill after a city-imposed deadline Monday, and promised to continue protests until officials search for the remains of slain Indigenous women.
"We're fighting for a cause. We're fighting to get these women home," Cambria Harris, daughter of Morgan Harris, one of the slain women, said Monday.
"They could serve us an injunction — that means we have to vacate this area," Melissa Robinson, Morgan Harris's cousin, said. "That doesn't mean we're not going to go elsewhere. This is just the beginning."
