The annual coaching carousel has seen changes to hockey coaching staffs across North America, and the re-signing of Head Coach and General Manager Blake Spiller has seen some changes behind his bench as well.
Associate Coach Paul Harland is stepping away from the bench to take on the role of Assistant General Manager. He outlines what his key objectives will be in the position.

The Stanley Cup will remain in Miami for a 2nd straight year. The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 last night, winning the final 4 games to 2. Sam Reinhart scored 4 of the 5 goals for the winners, including two into an empty net.
Sam Bennett was named the playoffs' MVP, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy. He scored 15 goals and 22 points in 23 playoff games.
Kerrobert Golf Course hosts 51 golfers for district tournament
June 11 marked the Battle West Athletics district junior golf tournament, taking place in Kerrobert.
Beavers drop 7-2 decision to Energy City at home
The Weyburn Beavers came up short Tuesday night at Tom Laing Park, dropping a 7–2 decision to the Energy City Cactus Rats in the first of back-to-back matchups between the two clubs.
Coming off a tough weekend series in Saskatoon, the Beavers struggled to find their rhythm early and were never quite able to recover, committing five errors in the field and leaving seven runners on base.

Wildcats captain Hillhorst awarded Don Kuryk scholarship
After an incredible season on the ice, in the classroom and in the community, the Westman Wildcats captain Callie Hillhorst was named the Don Kuryk Scholarship recipient by Hockey Manitoba.
"It was really an honour," Hillhorst said of finding out she was awarded the scholarship. "There's a lot of people to choose from, but getting that extra money is huge, with the cost of tuition, living and other expense, it adds up quickly. Education was just as important to me as hockey, so getting that support helps when it comes to helping doing what I love become more attainable."

Another season of Altona Bisons' baseball is under way in the Border Baseball League and coach Ralph Hamm says there's a lot of positives early and more good things to come.
Local communities partner to bring new team to Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey League
After a lot of hard work by some dedicated people, the communities of Ile des Chenes and Ste. Anne are combining to bring a new team to the Manitoba Women's High School Hockey League.
"We were accepted into the Manitoba Women's High School Hockey League this year," explains Ryan Dreger, a member of the parent committee which helped get the team off the ground. "We've put together a co-op between Ecole Pointe-Des-Chenes and Gabrielle-Roy, that's Ste. Anne and Ile des Chenes, the two schools are going to work together and they're going to compete this year in the league."
57's can't hold late lead in loss to Moose Jaw
A late lead slipped away for the Swift Current 57's in WCBL action last night.
The Miller Express scored 4 times in the top of the 9th inning to overcome a 2-1 deficit and beat Swift Current 5-2.
Moose Jaw won three out of four games in a row against Swift Current.
Wilmer Henriquez hit his 5th home run of the season for the 57's.
Jose Ayala went 3 for 4 for Swift Current, while Silas Hilton went 2 for 3.
Adam Korte had a strong start for the 57's going 7 innings and allowing only 1 run on 8 hits with 8 strikeouts.
