GALLERY: Siblings are 'twin' ASAA XC provincial champions
Kayley and Eli Torrie have more in common than their birthdays.
The fraternal twins won a matching set of ASAA provincial intermediate cross-country (XC) titles for Cochrane High after overcoming cold, rainy conditions, and mud pits on a Grande Prairie course, Oct. 19.
It's Kayley's second consecutive ASAA title, after successfully defending her junior girls championship from 2023. It's Eli's first ASAA XC title, following a bronze in junior boys last year.

Yorkton Terriers forfeit three wins due to ineligible player
The Yorkton Terriers have been forced to forfeit three wins since October 11th, as the league has ruled the team used an ineligible player in its last six games. The forfeited games are wins against Nipawin on October 11th, Estevan on October 16th, and Melville on October 18th.

It was a busy summer at the picturesque Minnewasta golf course. Head professional Greg Hesom will join Clayton Dreger on Off the Tee which airs Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m. on CFAM Radio 950.
Dinsmore volleyball teams Making waves: Tournament and playoff updates
It's been an exciting season for the Dinsmore volleyball teams, with notable successes across both the junior and senior levels. Here's a recap of the action so far this year:
Junior Girls Volleyball Coaches Lance Morrison and Lori Beattie have led the Junior Girls to a strong season. On October 19, Dinsmore hosted the Sectionals, welcoming teams from Beechy, Lucky Lake, and Elrose.

Three Manitoba Junior Hockey League teams are in the Canadian Junior Hockey League's Top 20 Rankings. The Selkirk Steelers (11-3) have dropped from number three to number nine. The Steinbach Pistons (7-2-1) fell from nine to 12. The defending Turnbull Cup champion Winkler Flyers (7-3), who were unranked last week, are number 13. The Central Canada Hockey League's Rockland Nationals (12-0) remain the number one ranked team in the country.

Gavin Funk had two goals and an assist and Easton Neufeld made 21 saves in recording the shutout as the Morden Thunder defeated the Miller Aces 4-0. Kiru Griffin and Vance Olson also scored for the defending Zone 4 High School Hockey League champions. Aces netminder Logan Krahn faced 36 shots.
