Brandon's Schoonbaert signs with Scotland's Dundee Stars
After spending the end of the season last year in Europe, Bradley Schoonbaert is heading back over the pond, signing with the Dundee Stars for the 2025-26 season.
"Going back to the UK, playing in the Elite Ice Hockey League with the Dundee Stars," Schoonbaert says with a smile. "They're based in Scotland, so it's pretty exciting."

It was an incredible tournament in Abbotsford, British Columbia for the Eastman Wildcats, as the group battled their way to a silver medal.

"Super proud of the team, super proud of the girls," coach Jason Plett says with a big smile. "With how far we came from when we started practicing in November, till this weekend, it's been amazing. They've taken big steps to get to this point, and they deserve every bit of that silver medal that they won."

Providence player sinks Sea Bears half-court shot, gives glory to God
For the first time this season, a fan has made the half-court shot at the Winnipeg Sea Bears game and she is giving all glory to God.
Carman native, Sydney Last has been playing basketball since Grade seven and is a guard on the Providence Pilots women's basketball team. On August 8, she had the opportunity to make the challenging shot.
"It was a pretty crazy moment," Last said. "My goal was really to just make it close. I make half courts often when I shoot them, like they're not impossible, but in front of such a big crowd and with two shots only."
McKay in net as Alberta women’s lacrosse eyes semifinal berth
Alberta’s women’s lacrosse team has punched its ticket to the quarterfinals at the Canada Summer Games and will face Manitoba tonight in St. John’s, N.L.
The team wrapped up pool play with a 4-2 record, knocking Nova Scotia and Quebec out of medal contention. Manitoba topped its pool and will have home advantage. The winner moves on to Thursday’s semifinals, while the loser plays for consolation rankings. Medal matches are Friday.

At the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Team Saskatchewan’s Men’s Baseball team wrapped up the round robin with a 2-0 loss to BC.

At the Canada Summer Games in Newfoundland, Team Saskatchewan dropped to 2-2 in baseball after yesterday's 10-2 loss to Ontario and today's 2-0 loss against British Columbia.
Shaunavon's Mason Fauser didn't play against Ontario after playing the first two games for Saskatchewan.
Former Swift Current resident Aiden Kilshaw was 1 for 4 with a run scored in a losing cause.
Fauser and Kilshaw were both held hitless against BC as their starter, Dylan Demeyer, threw a complete game two-hitter.
