Mohawks football team looking for redemption against Delisle
The Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks football team will have another chance to unseat the undefeated Delisle Rebels when the two teams meet in Delisle.
On September 20th, the two teams met in a highly entertaining back and forth game, with the Rebels securing the victory thanks to a pair of touchdowns in the final two minutes of the game.
Unity football team wins not only game but for a cause
The Unity High School Warriors football team took to the field in a bold new look Thursday night, trading their usual black and red jerseys for pink as they faced off against Eatonia. The change wasn't just about style but a show of solidarity and support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In more ways than one, the Warriors came away winners, both on and off the field.
Broncos begin busy weekend in Kindersley
After a weeklong break the Humboldt Broncos will be back on the ice tonight in Kindersley against the Klippers.
Last Friday, the Broncos suffered their first loss of the season with a 6-2 loss to the Yorkton Terriers.
Head Coach Brayden Klimosko said it was good for the team to have extended time at practice before returning to action.
Gardner takes the reins as head coach of the Flyers
With the departure of Colten Hayes, who's joined the Old Grizzlys of the AJHL as an assistant coach, the High River Flyers have brought in Jeff Gardner to assume the role of head coach.
Gardner has been the head coach for the Flyers in a previous two-year stint and was given the opportunity to come back to build the team within his vision.
Three local athletes sign with the University of Calgary to play football
Three local athletes have signed with the University of Calgary Dinos to continue playing football.
The athletes include two from George McDougall High School, Kohen Bohnet and Seth Horwood, and one from W.H. Croxford, Soren Layton.
Bohnet is quarterback for the Mustangs while Horwood is fullback and linebacker. On Croxford, Layton is a receiver and defensive back.

The Moose Jaw Warriors start their day in Lethbridge where they'll play the Hurricanes tonight. James Gallo has the pre-game show at 6:40 on Country 100 with play-by-play to follow.
The Warriors play the Tigers in Medicine Hat tomorrow night. They'll be back on home ice a week from tonight against the Everett Silvertips.
The Winmar AAA Warriors have a pair of home games at the Hangar this weekend against the Saskatoon Contacts. Puck drop tomorrow is 7 pm, and it’s a matinee on Sunday with a 1:30 start.
Meachem rink en route to Scotland for World Mixed Championship
Eleven months after capturing the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship on their home ice, Shaun Meachem, Kelly Schafer and Chris and Teejay Haichert from the Swift Current Curling Club are set to fly to Aberdeen, Scotland for the World Mixed Curling Championship.

The winless Notre Dame Hounds will travel to Gull Lake to face the winless Lions as both teams claw to keep their nine-man football playoff hopes alive.
Gull Lake is coming off a 70-13 loss to the Shaunavon Shadows in week 3 of Conference 2 action, while Notre Dame was run over by the Lumsden Devils 70-0.
Zodiacs & Thunder capture Zone 4 soccer titles
The Garden Valley Zodiacs and Morden Thunder are Zone 4 high school soccer champions.
Louis Braun, Noah Vanden Berg and Marcelo Froese did the goal scoring as GVC defeated Miller 3-1 in the boys final Thursday in Winkler. Will Sawatzky had the lone goal for the Aces.
The Thunder shutdown Miller 2-0 in the girls final in Morden. Kaydence Wiens scored both goals for the Thunder while Gabbi Hildebrand recorded the clean sheet.
GVC and Morden will represent Zone 4 at the Provincial A/AA/AAA High School Soccer Championships in Minnedosa on October 11th & 12th.
