It's been rare in the history of the Swift Current Broncos for them to recruit and sign players out of the United States.
That may be changing thanks to an NCAA rule change that allows WHL players to join American college teams.
The Broncos inked U16 AAA Dallas Stars goalie Aiden Eskit to a WHL scholarship and development agreement in December, and they have now signed Detroit Little Caesars 15U AAA forward Brock Burch.

The Weyburn Rowing Club is starting a training program from May 5th to June 9th in the evenings at Olympia In-Depth Performance.
Club president Sheila Leach said it is a cardio-based training program offered twice weekly for a total of 10 sessions.

Broncos Captain Clarke Caswell heading to NCAA
One of the top programs in NCAA hockey has apparently recruited Swift Current Broncos Captain Clarke Caswell.
News reports surfaced yesterday that Caswell had committed to play for the University of Denver this fall and skip the final two years of his WHL eligibility.
Broncos General Manager Chad Leslie confirmed to Swift Current Online there was a change of plans, and Caswell is exploring his options with Denver.

Bobcat QB playing in televised CFC Prospect Game
Years of hard work and determination are paying off for Bow Valley Bobcats quarterback Kaden Barnstable.
The 16-year-old pivot has been selected to compete in the CFC Prospect Game, which will air nationally on TSN on May 24. Barnstable earned the nod after standout performances at showcases in Calgary and Vancouver, catching the attention of scouts from Canada Football Chat, who made the announcement earlier this week.

Ryan Huska named to Team Canada staff for Men’s Worlds -- and he’s not the only local
Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska will serve as an assistant coach for Canada’s National Men’s Team at the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Hockey Canada announced Wednesday.
The tournament runs May 9–25 in Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark. Huska joins a national staff that includes head coach Dean Evason, Andrew Brunette, and Steve McCarthy behind the bench, with Calgary and Airdrie also represented on the support side.
Two Cochrane players bound for WHL championship
At least two Cochrane players will be appearing in WHL Championship Series after the Medicine Hat Tigers punched their ticket into the league final with a four-game sweep of the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The Tabbies held off a Hurricanes comeback in the third last night in Lethbridge to come out on top 5-3.
Cochrane's Ethan Neutens had an assist for the Tigers in the game.
The Tigers have been on a roll, going 22-1 since Feb. 21.

Team Saskatchewan A claimed the top spot at the Interprovincial 5 Pin Bowling Championship, taking home gold after a nail-biting series of playoff matches in Saskatoon this past weekend.
The national event, held April 23–27, brought together teams from across the country to compete in one of Canada’s most celebrated bowling championships. The winning Saskatchewan A team, representing the West Saskatchewan Zone, featured bowlers Bridget Berg (Rosetown), Yvonne Markewich (Biggar), Leonard Lapierre (Lashburn), Mat Harrabek (Biggar), and Coach Alvin Anderson (Lashburn).
