Sports Round-Up: Thursday, October 3
The Moose Jaw Warriors are headed to Alberta, with a game in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes tomorrow, and a game in Medicine Hat Saturday against the Tigers. Game time both days is 7 pm, and you can catch all the action on Country 100 with James Gallo, starting with the pregame shows at 6:40.
One game last night in the WHL - Saskatoon beat Calgary 5-3. The Blades are 4 and 0 to start the season.

Steinbach Regional scored 21 first quarter points en route to a 51-22 victory over the Sturgeon Heights Huskies. Pavel Tsialipka ran for two touchdowns and Cruz Greenham had a 97-yard pick-six for the Sabres who improved to 3-0 in the Winnipeg High School Football League's JV9 Division. Arkin Padron and Mason Wiebe threw touchdown passes for the SRSS. Owen Medeiros caught a 37-yard td pass and returned a fumbled kick-off for another major.

The Zone 4 high school soccer season will end today. Miller will face Garden Valley in Winkler in the boys final. The Aces downed Morden 5-2 in the semifinal. Miller will take on the Thunder in Morden in the girls final. The Aces blanked Garden Valley 6-0 and the Thunder defeated Dufferin Christian 3-1 in the semifinals. Shevchenko will face Dufferin Christian in Carman in the Tier 2 boys final. The Sabres shutdown Roseau Valley 12-0 and the Stingers beat Morris/St. Jean 6-1 in the semifinals. Carman will host Morris/St. Jean in the Tier 2 girls final.
Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club well-represented during Judo Sask, Awards
Following a provincial team training session featuring 40 of the best judo athletes in the province, Judo Saskatchewan held their annual provincial association awards banquet in Moose Jaw on Saturday, September 28. The Moose Jaw Koseikan Judo Club (MJKJC) was well represented among the award winners.
MJKJC members were among those nominated in most categories, with several receiving multiple awards.
Women's Hockey Showdown is coming to Okotoks
The OOAA/OMHA is hosting an ACAC game on Sunday (Oct. 6) at 4:00 p.m. when the Sait Trojans Women's hockey team faces off against the Medicine Hat Rattlers.
With women's hockey thriving, especially since the introduction of the PWHL last year, it's a great way to see the women's game up close.
Jennifer Dustow, who is a part of the Okotoks Female Hockey Development, explains how they are bringing the Trojans in for a hockey game at Viking Rentals Centre.
Warriors announce 2024 induction class into the Conexus Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame
Moose Jaw, Sask. – The Moose Jaw Warriors, in partnership with Conexus Credit Union, are proud to the 2024 induction class into the Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame.
This year will see Dustin Boyd and Jody Lehman enter the Hall of Fame in the Player category and the Multiplex Builders Inc. inducted into the Builder category.
The 2024 Conexus Warriors & Legends Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, followed by the annual Hall of Fame Game on Saturday, Nov. 23 against the Tri-City Americans.

Comp soccer teams rack up wins
In high school soccer, the Swift Current Comp Ardens picked up a scrappy 1-0 win over Regina O'Neill yesterday.
Rowan Robinson scored the lone goal of the game and Tinara Bowditch had a clean sheet in goal.
The Ardens have now won four games in a row as they get set for their home tournament.
Their schedule starts Friday at 2pm against Regina Campbell.
Red Wings bolster lineup with dynamic additions up front
It was rumoured to be a possibility before the SJHL season started. Two of the top forwards from the 2023-24 season, Jerome Maharaj and Jaxon Ruthven, would be coming back to the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings. In the offseason, Maharaj went to the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL, while Ruthven went south of the border and joined the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL.
Wednesday afternoon, the Red Wings made the announcement - the pair were coming back to The Opportunity City.
Wildcats start season with a split
Swift Current's female U18 AAA hockey club is preparing for their home opener after a split of games in Prince Albert on the weekend.
The Innovation Federal Credit Union Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Bears on Saturday before responding with a 3-2 victory Sunday afternoon.
