Rhonda has just won herself a $70,000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara!
Golden West Broadcasting and Your Alberta Jeep Dealers recently gave her the exciting news.
"What? No way! I can't believe it," she said.
The Jeep comes packed with cutting-edge features including a 12.3-inch wide touchscreen display, Jeep Connect, a heated steering wheel, heated leather seats, dual climate control and two sets of tires.
"I can't even comprehend this. Does it come with mascara?" Rhonda said wiping away tears of joy.
Wetaskiwin to get new K-8 school
Wetaskiwin Regional Public Schools (WRPS) will receive school planning funding for a new Kindergarten to Grade 8 School in Budget 2024.
The new school would replace the existing Norwood School in the northeast area of the City of Wetaskiwin.
Sylvan Lake public washrooms once again targeted by vandals
The Town of Sylvan Lake has announced that once again a public washroom has been targeted by vandals.
Washroom number two near the beach was closed due to fire damage.
Town of Sylvan Lake crews are cleaning up and repairing the damage over the next few days. The washroom will re-open once the work is complete.
In January of 2023, the public washrooms at Leader Field had thousands of dollars of damage done to them. At that time a planned family skating and sledding event had to be cancelled.
Penhold area residents asked to watch out for power line workers
Fortis Alberta is performing an overhead line move until March 22nd.
This work will be done at the intersection of Highway 2a and Highway 42. The overhead line currently in place at this intersection will be moved underground.
This work is to prepare for a traffic circle installation. Fortis says they do not anticipate any outages or major traffic interruptions. Drivers are being asked to use caution in the area and follow the flag crew members.
Most of the work will take place between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
City of Red Deer asking you to report on-street flooding
With the warm weather we've had over the past couple days and more into the weekend, there is a chance for on-street flooding around the City of Red Deer.
If you see an issue near your home you are being asked to report the problem to Parks and Public works at 403-342-8238. This number is also for urgent on-street flooding issues or water reaching private property.

Red Deer resident arrested for stolen vehicle and weapons
On Feb. 28, the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) arrested a male and recovered a stolen vehicle.
While making patrols, RCMP CRT located a black Ford F-350 driving in a dangerous manner in the north end of Red Deer. Police determined that the truck had been stolen from Rimbey, a few days prior.
A short time later the vehicle was found abandoned and the driver fled on foot before being arrested by police.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Matthew Pennington, a 23-year-old resident of Red Deer.

Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland has pledged that the government will meet its fiscal targets in the upcoming federal budget, but economists say achieving that goal will be challenging as the deficit tracks higher.
Amid mounting pressure to rein in spending, the Liberals unveiled new fiscal guardrails in the fall that aim to limit deficits. Among the government's promises was that this year's deficit will not exceed $40.1 billion.
'My job is not to be popular,' Trudeau says after pressed to ditch carbon price hike
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pushed back Wednesday on growing demands from premiers to dump the planned April 1 hike to the consumer carbon levy, saying leaders must tackle both affordability and climate change.
"My job is not to be popular,” Trudeau said, briefly pausing and adding with a wry smile, "Although it helps."
"My job is to do the right things for Canada now and do the right things for Canadians a generation from now."
