Snow blankets Foothills overnight
What a difference a day makes.
Residents of the Foothills woke up Monday morning to a blanket of snow covering everything.
At least 5 cm fell overnight, starting around 1 a.m., with more still falling.
According to Environment Canada we're supposed to get between 5 and 10 cm of the white stuff today.
It looks like it's here to stay as well because the highs this week won't get above zero.

Chief electoral officer proposes legislative changes to crack down on deepfakes
Canada's elections chief wants a ban on the misrepresentation of candidates and other key players in the electoral process through manipulation of their voice or image without consent.
The proposed change to the Canada Elections Act is among several measures chief electoral officer Stéphane Perrault is putting forward to address the use of deepfakes and other artificially created content to fool voters.
In an interview, Perrault said he is "hoping to convince" MPs to expand an electoral reform bill, currently in a House of Commons committee, to include some new elements.
Police chase ends in arrest in High River
A suspicious vehicle call in High River last week led to a police chase that ended with the use of spike strips, followed by an arrest.
Just before 11 p.m. on Nov. 6, officers with the High River RCMP went to check on a suspicious vehicle.
They had received a call from a member of the public saying the driver seemed to be lurking and scoping out parked vehicles.
When they attempted to stop the suspect he sped away, and the police later found the vehicle abandoned.
Fifth person charged in homicide of woman found dead near Okotoks
A fifth person has been charged in the homicide of Tara Miller, also known as Tara Mbugua, whose remains were found on March 30, 2023.
The 37-year-old's remains were found near Highway 522 and 128 St. N.E. near Okotoks. Both Okotoks RCMP and Calgary Police Service were involved in the investigation.
In January of 2024, Calgary residents Gurpreet Gill, Greg Schuster, and Shyana Popplestone and Jared Burke of Wheatland County were charged in relation to Miller's death.
On Nov. 13, 43-year-old Paul Fettig of Calgary was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Gallery: Okotoks students shave their heads for cancer
Students from École BeauSoleil Francophone went bald to raise funds for cancer on Friday (Nov. 15).
A total of 35 students participated in the event, with 15 having their head shaved and the rest having their hair coloured.
It's part of the Rock Your Locks campaign from the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.
So far, the school has raised over $5,000.
'Wasn't as clear as I could have been': Boissonnault sorry for Indigenous claims
Canada's Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault apologized Friday, after shifting claims about his Indigenous identity came under scrutiny.
The Liberal member of Parliament said at an unrelated announcement in Edmonton that he's sorry he hadn't been clear, "with everything that I know now."
"I apologize that I wasn't as clear as I could have been about who I am and my family's history,” he said, adding that he's still learning about his family's heritage "in real time."
Okotoks and High River Cadets excited for upcoming year
The Cadet program in High River and Okotoks provides youth between the ages of 12-18 opportunities to develop and participate in the Sea Army and the Air Cadet program.
