Celebrating Exceptional Women: YF Wives ready for upcoming gala

The Weyburn YF Wives are gearing up for their third annual Women of Distinction Awards Gala this May.  

The event, which is currently sold out, is scheduled for May 2nd at McKenna Hall and will feature guest speaker Twyla Walkeden. The evening will kick off with supper at 6:30 followed by Walkeden and the awards ceremony and then an after party.

After 6 years, Big Daddy Weave to release new album

Big Daddy Weave's new album and project, Let It Begin, will be released later this spring. 

The Christian band last released their album, When The Light Comes, in 2019. After this, one of their beloved band members, Jay Weaver, passed away unexpectedly. Weaver, the brother of lead singer Mike Weaver, was only 42 years old when he died, leaving behind his wife and their three children.

It's time for another Made in Manitoba, and tonight it's a return guest, a duo in fact, and one we haven't heard from for quite some time. The last time we featured them, they were known as Reg and Andreas, and the two were based in Denmark. Well, this time around, as we showcase music from their latest album "Be the Light", the  two still call Denmark home, but are now known on stage as Paradyme Duo.

Steinbach resident gets a head start to mowing season

Despite visible snow on the ground, and potential flurries in the forecast, a Steinbach resident has declared mowing season officially underway. 

This afternoon, Willy Froese brought out his mower and began trimming the exposed patches of grass in his yard.  

Though many might say it’s a little bit early in the season, Froese has a simple answer. 

Where's Waldo at the BKT Curling Championship

Fans of the BKT World Men's Curling Championship will be able to play a bit of "Where's Waldo" throughout the remaining draws of the tournament.

Randy Gill of Lacombe, Alberta made his way to Moose Jaw for the championship on Thursday. He will be dressed in the traditional red and white striped Waldo sweater for this weekend. 

Gill has been following the tournament all week long and will catch the last handful of draws while taking in some Moose Jaw staples.
