Final rehearsal for the Saskatchewan Roughriders

It’s the final test run for the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday as they meet the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the last preseason game. 

Last week, the Blue Bombers prevailed in the battle of field goals 15-9.  

With most of the starters with the green and white playing last week in Winnipeg, Roughriders Head Coach Corey Mace will get a chance to assess the depth of the roster this week.  

Racing and Rolling on June 21 in St. Gregor

The rip roaring two and four wheeled good time that is St. Gregor’s Shake Rattle and Roll is back. The good news is that last year’s inaugural counterpart, Shake Rattle and Race, also makes its return.  

The traditional motorbike run is a fundraising partnership with the Parkinson’s Foundation and the St. Gregor Community Hall. It’s the 12th edition of the Roll and it’s happening Saturday, June 21 with the St. Gregor Community Hall as home base.  

"Common Territory" offered insight and sharing into cultural experience from diverse perspectives

Community members, regional newcomers, and Indigenous elders came together for an enlightening exchange connected to a BC produced documentary chronicling the experiences of both immigrants and Indigenous people in Canada. “Common Territory” looked at narratives of displacement, belonging, and cultural preservation. The film focuses on life within the traditional territories of the Stó:lō peoples, also known as the Fraser Valley, through personal interviews with both Indigenous peoples and newcomers.   

18U AAA East Central Red Sox crush Sask Five Marlins 11-1

The 18U AAA East Central Red Sox are back at the .500 mark following an 11-1 win over the Sask Five Marlins on Thursday night in Muenster.  

Following a scoreless first inning, the Red Sox rattled off 11 over the next four innings, including four runs in both the 4th and 5th innings.  

Graydn Wilson led the offensive charge at the plate as he ended up with five RBIs, three hits, including a home run. 

Inclusive dance kicks off summer long celebration with Humboldt & District Community Services 25th anniversary

Twenty-five years have passed since Humboldt and District Community Services opened its doors to provide support services for those with disabilities. On Thursday night, HDCS began a summer’s worth of 25th anniversary celebrations with a spectacular inclusive dance featuring the astonishing vocals of Colby Nargang, performing live in the St. Augustine Parish Hall.

Understanding wind all about the force

Last issue, we talked about how the pressure gradient force is the main driving force of wind in our atmosphere and that it exists due to the unequal heating of the Earth’s surface.

Now, if we were to take a simple look at the Earth, this would mean that the polar regions would have high pressure because they are cold and the equatorial regions would be areas of low pressure because they are warm.

Gene edited crops face turning point

India takes the plunge, but some crop sectors remain hesitant.

May 4, 2025, could be a significant day in the history of agriculture.
