Winnipeg Police Service responded to a call early morning around 2:30 a.m. on November 1, 2023.

According to police, the report was about a deceased male in a suite located in the North Point Douglas area.
 
An adult male was discovered; the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed.

The Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate, and interviews are ongoing.

Mounties in western Manitoba are asking for help in finding a man who has not been seen since Friday.

The Manitoba RCMP says that on October 30, 2023, at 4:50 pm, Minnedosa RCMP received a report of a missing 55-year-old male from an address located in the RM of Oakview.

Jamie Wade was last seen on Friday, October 27, at approximately 5 pm.

Wade is described as 5’10”, 120 lbs, with short gray hair, green eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing black jeans and a plaid jacket.

The Saskatchewan RCMP are encouraging trick-or-treaters, their parents, and those driving on Halloween night to keep safety in mind with the following tips:

Scarefully design your costume: Make sure masks and other accessories don’t obstruct sight, and that costumes don’t pose a tripping risk. Consider adding reflective tape or a glow stick to costumes or carrying a flashlight.

Carve out a plan: Discuss trick-or-treating rules with kids before they leave the house. For older kids, arrange a route and meeting/check-in times and places.

The Estevan Police Service issued 13 tickets under the Traffic Safety Act from Friday through Monday and handed out six written warnings, while dealing with a total of 65 occurrences.

A police release said the calls they dealt with included driving complaints, crashes, disturbances, suspicious people and vehicles, and child and welfare assistance matters.
