Moe, Elly Ursel (Busse) born on September 2, 1930 on the farm in Hallonquist, passed away at the age of 93 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at her home at Cypress House where she resided for over eight years after her husband Tillmann Earl Moe died.  At 16 years of age she moved to Swift Current and became a waitress at the Pick-A-Deli Café and within a few months became the cashier.  She met her husband while working and married on May 26, 1950.  The following year they moved to Gouldtown, Saskatchewan and operated a general store in partnership with Harry Firus.  Ricky Blaine Moe was born on November 6, 1952.  They decided to move to White Bear, Saskatchewan in 1955 to farm with Agnes and Oliver Moe (Tillmann’s parents).  A second child was born, Caron Delea Marshall (Moe) on December 18, 1955, and Trevor Curtis Moe was born on January 8, 1960 to complete the family.  Elly enjoyed participating in the Lutheran church and attended Ladies Aide where she served as a secretary and later Vice President for conferences.  She taught Sunday school for many years and sang alto in White Bear and Kyle choirs.  She became a very good cook and was known for her fried chicken.  She transported many meals out to the field where Rick and Tillmann worked.  She organized many family functions providing activities and cooked for large groups.  Tillmann would bring home friends and Elly was always able to provide an inviting meal.  After Tillmann retired from the Wheat Pool, Elly and her husband organized and guided many bus tours visiting Prince Rupert, Churchill and Winnipeg.  In 1990 Tillmann and Elly moved to Swift Current where they enjoyed visiting with friends and family.  Elly enjoyed crafts such as crocheting, knitting and cross stitch.  She sewed majority of Caron’s clothes until Caron left home and then sewed many outfits for her grandchildren including dance costumes.  She also passed down her love of cooking and crafts by teaching them to her grandchildren.  Elly’s parents were Berthold and Emilie Busse and she was the third youngest child.  Her siblings were:  Alma, Ruth, Peggy, Gordon, and Ruby.  Elly is survived by: Rick (Judy) Moe, her children Tracy (Dean) and grandchildren Ryan and Kristopher, Tanya (Ryan) and grandchildren Kade, Sara (Dylan) and great-great granddaughter Ella and grandson Sam, Travis (Jackie) and grandchildren Wyatt (Alissia) and great-great grandson Lynx, grandchildren Austin, Cole and Alexia; daughter Caron (Dana), grandchildren Shaunna, Bryce and great grandchildren Mira and Finley, granddaughter Sheena, Blair (Joseph), and great grandchildren Leland and Laila; son Trevor (Joy), grandchildren Ashley (Jonathan), and great grandchildren Savanah, Peyton, Presley, Parker, and granddaughter Krista.  A special thank-you to the Cypress House staff for all their loving care throughout the years.  Arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home.  For further information please call 1-306-773-8831 or 1-800-267-6606, or visit our website at www.warrensfuneralhome.com and express your sympathy to family members on the tribute wall.
