Local businesses win big at the Mark of Excellence Awards
The gala was back in full force on Thursday night. The Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce Mark of Excellence Awards packed the house at Jubilee Hall to celebrate a wide range of area businesses. Big winners for the night was Strueby Plumbing and Heating who walked away with three awards.

Food to Learn campaign raises $71,000 for Saskatchewan food banks
The Humboldt and District Food Bank will be one of the beneficiaries from the food drive held this summer by the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation in concert with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan.
In a release, the STF recounted its partnership with Food Banks of Saskatchewan for the “Food to Learn” campaign, calling attention to the growing need for food bank services in the province, with a fundraising goal of $44,000.

RCMP seize over 17,000 unstamped cigarettes from Humboldt man
On Friday, September 22, 2023, Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP with the assistance of Saskatchewan Safer Communities (SCAN) and Neighbourhood and Officers of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the city of Humboldt after a six-month investigation.
RCMP says over 17,000 unstamped cigarettes and proceeds of the sale of unstamped tobacco products were seized.

Province paves way for new Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus in Saskatoon
For years, Saskatchewan Polytechnic campuses have been composed of a central facility and satellite buildings for some of its programs throughout the cities they reside in. Now, the campus in Saskatoon will have all its programs housed in a brand new, centralized location. The Government of Saskatchewan announced a new, state of the art complex will be developed at Innovation Place on the University of Saskatchewan Main Campus

Former Bronco Ty Smith and partner Kat Kastner cross the Amazing Race Canada finish line in first
Like hundreds of viewers in the Humboldt area and thousands across the country, members of the current Humboldt Broncos were gathered around the TV awaiting the fate of one of their own. Tuesday night was the season finale of the Amazing Race Canada with 2018 Bronco Ty Smith and his partner Kat Kastner in the final three pairs competing for the title.
