On Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Grande Prairie RCMP received a report of a hit and run that occurred between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was struck by a metallic colored sedan of unknown make and model, around 5:20 p.m., while crossing the crosswalk on Lakeland Drive at 90A Street. The suspect vehicle fled the area after a short conversation with the pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The female suspect driver is described as follows:                   

  • 20-30 years-old
  • Black, shoulder length straight hair
  • Wearing black glasses, a black sweater and black leggings

Grande Prairie RCMP continue to investigate and are looking for witnesses, or drivers that may have dash camera footage, that were in the area of Lakeland Drive and 90A Street between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2023.
