It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter, Eloise McCall, who died peacefully, surrounded by husband Gordon, and sons, Sean and Spencer, on the morning of Dec. 31, 2023 at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current. She fought a courageous eight-month battle with cancer and, as with everything she did, left this world with grace, dignity and love in her heart. Her spirit will gently guide us through the darkness of our grief.

Born in Welland, Ontario in 1944, she attended Welland’s, Ross Memorial Elementary School, Notre Dame Separate School, E.L. Crossley Secondary School. Following graduation, she enrolled in the Simcoe Ontario Regional Hospital nursing training program. Upon graduation she became a Registered Nursing Assistant and practised her calling from 1964 to 1976 when she retired to raise our young family as a stay-at-home Mom. She felt this was her calling in life and our family has been the beneficiary of that belief ever since. Eloise was a tremendous caregiver and in the late eighties started her own respite care business entitled, “A Friend In Need.” Her clients considered her to have a heart of gold and caregiving ability of the highest order.

“She is the irreplaceable love of my life”, husband, Gordon said. He credits Eloise with being his anchor through both life and career. In the rock and roll world that is a life in the performing arts, she was Gordon’s safe haven and inspiration. He credits her with giving him the confidence he needed to pursue the unpredictable life of a professional theatre artist.

Eloise and Gordon lived in Saskatoon, SK throughout most of the eighties and returned to Saskatchewan six years ago to live in Swift Current where Gordon ran the Lyric Theatre and to be near their sons who live in Saskatchewan.

Eloise is survived by husband of 52 years, Gordon McCall, son, Sean McCall, son, Spencer McCall, partner Karly Green and step-daughter Nevaeh Jacobsen, Sister, Mary Ellen Forsyth, brother-in-law, Justice Frederick Forsyth.
