"Winter driving can be a white-knuckle ride. Snow, ice and long, nights all pose challenges to those behind the wheel. Whether you operate a car, truck or snowmobile, winter driving requires special attention," police said.
Environment and Climate Change Canada is predicting that snow will begin early Saturday afternoon in Airdrie and continue into the evening, with accumulations from 2 to 4 centimetres of snow. Snow will continue on Sunday before tapering off.
Temperatures are also expected to plummet. The coldest temperature this weekend is expected on Sunday evening; -23 degrees Celsius. However, the coming week may see nighttime lows as low as -34. More snow is expected early next week.
