Eben, Phyllis age 83 years of Swift Current, passed away on January 8, 2024 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Phyllis is survived by her children: Rose (Terry) Hart, Irene Anderson (Dana Martens), Judy (Dan) Benard, Louie (Glenda) Eben, Dennis (Brenda) Eben; brother’s and sister: Marie Bloch, Jake Westermann (Carol Mailer), Helmut Westermann, Rudy (Pauline) Westermann; grandchildren: James (Kim) McCann, Dianna (Darren) Miller, Michael (Carmen) McCann, Michelle Anderson (Rob Hattum), Nicole (Dwayne) Larson, Melissa Anderson (Kirk Fehr), Katlynn Martens, Adrian Benard (Macsene Popil), Rosanna (Brent) Franson, Jeff (Yvette) Benard, Teana (Jessy) Kalnicki, Andrew Eben (Margaret Ayom), Ashley Eben (Evan Walliser), Justin Eben (Sarah Furseth), Jessy (Dallas) Kirkpatrick; 23 great-grandchildren plus one on the way.
She was predeceased by her husband Louie Eben (2003); parents Johann and Elisabeta Westermann; grandson Dan Christopher Benard; sister Clementine; brother and sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was born on July 30, 1940 in Kischenoff, Romania. She attended school in both Germany and in Canada. She immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1952. During April of 1961, she married the love of her life Louie Eben.
Phyllis worked as a nanny for a doctor in Morse. She held numerous waitressing jobs at Dixie Lunch, Voyager, and the Old Bus Depot to name a few. She stopped working to help raise her grandchildren.
Phyllis was a member of the Elks, Legion, and Eagles for many years. Mom loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, and her afternoon soaps.
