While there are no weather advisories in place for Airdrie and the surrounding areas, motorists are asked to drive to winter conditions, due to slippery highways.

Heading Southbound towards Calgary city limits, the QEIi is reported to have patches of black ice as well as partly covered snowy sections. 

North of Airdrie, similar conditions have been reported, and Highway 2A is covered in snow with patches of black ice and icy wheel paths.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has forecast that temperatures will be warmer on Saturday, though snow is expected throughout Sunday.
